The Visionary

Co-founder & CEO of Mysten Labs driving a decentralized internet with SuiNetwork and WalrusProtocol, and the engineer who once wrote software that runs on virtually every device. After a six-month pivot to hands-on medical research, evan.sui returned to lead bold technical and product visions for web3 with a 55K-strong audience.

You spent half a year playing emergency-room MacGyver and then announced 'I am back' like you were just returning from a quick jog, classic move from the guy trying to decentralize the internet while centralizing everyone's DMs.

Led a high-impact pivot: designed and executed medical research that produced unexpectedly strong results for a family health crisis, then resumed leading Mysten Labs and secured major ecosystem moves like bringing USDC to Sui.

To remake trust infrastructure so people, not intermediaries, control value and identity, and to apply engineering rigor to high-impact problems (whether in crypto or medicine) to produce real-world breakthroughs.

Believes in decentralization, engineering-first solutions, open innovation, and data-driven iteration; holds that ambitious technical platforms should be built ethically and at internet scale to empower creators and users.

Rare combo of deep technical chops and big-picture leadership: visionary product sense, resilient problem-solving (shown by his medical work), strong network, and the ability to rally engineers and partners (e.g., USDC on Sui).

Tends to go all-in on moonshot projects and personal crusades, which can stretch bandwidth and invite heated public debate; messaging sometimes leans lofty, which polarizes audiences and fuels long reply threads.

On X, lean into human storytelling and technical credibility: post concise threads that walk through product decisions or research playbooks, share short demo videos and post-mortems, host regular Spaces/AMAs for builders, pin a clear mission-and-roadmap tweet, amplify team voices (engineer takeovers), and respond to high-impact critics with data, consistency and behind-the-scenes transparency will grow a loyal, engaged audience.

Fun fact: he paused day-to-day CEO life to become a full-time medical researcher for 5œ months, designing combo therapies that already exceeded expectations. Also: he helped build software that runs on almost every device and now leads a team building a web-scale blockchain stack.

The tech stack we are building @Mysten_Labs is going to disrupt existing business models. Yes, it's a force multiplier on the same scale as AI.

The internet was supposed to give everyone a fair shot, but web2 turned into a playground for gatekeepers. We are building a new kind of platform, starting with @SuiNetwork @WalrusProtocol, to break that cycle. In the coming months, you’ll see why the Sui+Walrus+[REDACTED] platform is a disruptive force for GOOD.

It's unacceptable for any member of @Mysten_Labs , @SuiNetwork @WalrusProtocol to engage with community members negatively. Period. It doesn't matter what the disagreements are. There is no room for negativity. On behalf of all of us, I apologize to anyone who has been slighted.

Storytelling time! Let's talk about @WalrusProtocol and how it is positioned relative to @SuiNetwork and, more broadly, the blockchain ecosystem. Once upon a time, cool kids were all developing on E World Computer. It was slow, expensive, easy to hack, hard to program for, but it was the only world computer worth using. If apps want to store stuff, they had to use tape drives F, A. They were also slow and expensive, and not really integrated with E. So most apps were limited to functionalities performed on E. After a while, smart devs came up with co-processors called L2. These plug into E and allow apps to run faster and cheaper. Other smart devs who don't like co-processors built faster and cheaper world computers. But apps were still mostly run on these diskless computers. Storage solutions were still quite broken. In 2025, the devs behind Sui - the shiny new world computer - released Walrus. All the sudden, Sui World Computer gains integrated storage solution! These are fast like SSD. World computers can now do so much more with integrated storage functionality. Boom đŸ’„ As more interesting apps use Walrus SSD, other world computers quickly added adopters to Walrus so they won't miss this critical functionality. Cambrian Explosion of interesting apps that store stuff followed đŸ’„. But Sui is still the best. It's fast, cheap, safe, easy to use, and just better for devs. Everyone is buy Sui World Computer. And, of course, they are buying Walrus SSD as well. Who wants to miss out? Then they hear about the new cool thing called Seal that the devs behind Sui/Walrus are cooking up... And just like that, the world of trustless computing changed for the better, forever. /fin

Big day for @WorldLibertyFi and @SuiNetworkđŸ”„! World Liberty Financial (WLFI) has chosen to partner with Sui. We're excited about the ambition of the WLFI team. Can't wait to see what Sui's superpower can do for their slate of products. A lot more to come in the coming weeks 👀

I have to make another apology today. I am sorry @EmanAbio may be out for a few while he recovers from the beating he received today. I must ask the Sui community to refrain from speculating who did the beating.
