Last week, @NotionHQ passed 100M users! I found the photo I took after we reached 1000 users. And I still recall the day when we passed 1M in 2020 right before covid. I feel grateful, introspective. Looking back, there's so much learning, yet much remains unchanged... 1/n

So for 5 years, “offline” has been the #1 request. Today, thanks to the perseverance of our engineering team, @NotionHQ finally works offline. Your ideas don’t need Wi‑Fi to exist! For Notion community: thank you for your patience while we built this right. This is a journey, I want to share what we had to invent to make this real... 1/n

. @NotionHQ is designed by ~12 people. It’s kinda painful (high load, each person has to wear many hats…) But we want to keep the talent density high, because we believe the product quality starts with the quality of the people behind it. Now with @randyjhunt recently joining, we are ready to bring on a couple new folks to our product design team. He helped invent many things we consider "computers" today: the first personal computer at Xerox PARC, the GUI (which Steve Jobs saw and took to Apple), the desktop metaphor, and Object-Oriented Programming. Most people don’t know Alan cares and thinks more about humanity than computing. In this chat, Alan explains: — Humans lack built-in limits for once-scarce rewards.
