Ria Bhutoria is a product-minded payments and crypto operator who’s obsessed with making stablecoins practical, safe, and widely useful. She builds infrastructure, writes smart threads, and moves between startups and platform-level roles with infectious enthusiasm. Expect clear takes, design-first thinking, and a knack for turning research into real products.
Ria will design the perfect, elegantly peer-reviewed stablecoin pipeline, document it in three threads, and quietly join a startup that makes it slightly less theoretical, because she can’t resist building the thing she just spent a week arguing about on Twitter.
Turning early crypto conviction into measurable impact: leadership roles at high-profile projects (Stripe’s stablecoin efforts and delta as COO) and visible community influence that drives hiring, product adoption, and funding interest.
To accelerate mainstream adoption of stablecoins and crypto-native payments by building rigorous, user-first infrastructure and tools that make money movement faster, cheaper, and more accessible for everyone.
Product craft and engineering rigor beat hype; interoperability, neutrality, and sound guardrails are essential for crypto to serve real users; verification and careful design are the antidotes to blind trust; permissionless options and pragmatic rails can coexist.
Combines deep technical/product intuition with an operator’s execution muscle; great at explaining complex protocol tradeoffs in plain language; credible network and the ability to rally engineering and biz teams around infrastructure projects.
Can sound delightfully nerdy to outsiders, sometimes assuming audiences share a high baseline of technical knowledge, and can be impatient with slow consensus or purely theoretical debates that don’t lead to product outcomes.
On X, lean into explainer threads that break down one payment or stablecoin flow per thread, publish short post-mortems of design choices, run monthly AMAs or Spaces with payments folks and merchants, use simple visuals to illustrate flows, and tag/engage people who can validate economics, this turns technical credibility into broader, practical influence.
Fun fact: Ria went all in on crypto seven years ago and has since parlayed that conviction into leadership bets, joining teams like Stripe and delta to ship stablecoin-first infrastructure (and she signed the Stripe announcement with a cowboy hat emoji 🤠).
Life update! I’ve joined @stripe to accelerate the adoption of stablecoins 🤠
We’re just beginning to unlock the benefits of stablecoins for users, and I'm so excited for the next chapter.
I went all in on crypto seven years ago because I believed it would make global payments faster, cheaper, and more accessible. Over time, the clearest path forward has become stablecoins.
But to reach their full potential, stablecoins need better infrastructure, tools that are easy to integrate and the right guardrails for users across the risk spectrum.
That’s exactly what Stripe is building with Bridge (@Stablecoin), @privy_io and @tempo: foundational infrastructure built from first principles, with the same craft and rigor Stripe is known for.
I’ve always admired Stripe’s ability to deliver exceptional products that solve user needs, and in my short time here, I can attest the obsession is real.
If you're interested in learning about our growing suite of stablecoin products, I'd love to connect. Stripe is also actively hiring, so check out our open roles and reach out!
A new chapter: delta
I’m thrilled to share that I've joined @deltadotnetwork as COO
When @spjoleh explained delta to me, what stood out is that it doesn’t just address tradeoffs that rollups and appchains face today, it expands the design space of what’s possible:
On delta, developers don’t have to sacrifice a shared network of users, assets, and liquidity if they decide to build their product as a rollup or appchain
What’s more, their products can be decentralized or centralized, permissionless or permissioned, and fully trustless or partially trustless in terms of what they prove—and everything in between
Only on delta can rollups or appchains differ so much in their “local” trust assumptions, while allowing users and assets to move frictionlessly and safely between them
This is possible thanks to shared global state and native zk settlement on delta’s decentralized base layer, which I believe will give rise to a new spectrum of apps and platforms that have full customizability and connectivity
I couldn’t be more excited to bring this vision to life with @spjoleh, @iorulezz, @MylesOneil, @0xFunk and the rest of the team!
We’ll be sharing more about delta soon. To be the first to see, follow @deltadotnetwork. In the meantime, read our ‘hello world’ and litepaper
I’m deeply grateful for my experience at Castle Island Ventures, where I’ve had the privilege to work alongside a brilliant team I’ve long admired @MattWalshInBos, @nic__carter, @seanjudgeciv, @wkhosrowshahi1
Although I’m transitioning from my full-time role, I’m thrilled to have CIV’s support as an investor in delta and will continue working with our portfolio companies and collaborating on research and diligence as Operating Partner

update! I’ve joined @stripe to accelerate the adoption of stablecoins 🤠\n\nWe’re just beginning to unlock the benefits of stablecoins for users, and I'm so excited for the next chapter.\n\nI went all in on crypto seven years ago because I believed it would make global payments faster, cheaper, and more accessible. Over time, the clearest path forward has become stablecoins.\n\nBut to reach their full potential, stablecoins need better infrastructure, tools that are easy to integrate and the right guardrails for users across the risk spectrum.\n\nThat’s exactly what Stripe is building with Bridge (@Stablecoin), @privy_io and @tempo: foundational infrastructure built from first principles, with the same craft and rigor Stripe is known for.\n\nI’ve always admired Stripe’s ability to deliver exceptional products that solve user needs, and in my short time here, I can attest the obsession is real.\n\nIf you're interested in learning about our growing suite of stablecoin products, I'd love to connect.
