Fast forward 9 years later, & Luckin Coffee is acquiring Blue Bottle for just a touch less than the principal nestle invested. Prior to Nestle's acquisition, Blue Bottle had raised over $100m from the likes of Index Ventures, Google Ventures, and more. Philz Coffee & La Colombe Coffee Workshop also recently traded hands.

I find so much peace just knowing that i’m so much cooler than people who post pictures of themselves and their SOs being rich on twitter always remember no amount of money can make u simply not a loser it’s also interesting that these guys are now mostly seeking power & social validation (sacks in white house). it seems clear that once you succeed financially the remaining hole is social status; and this type was most likely the nerdy kind in high school / college, so they are consistently compensating for that post-money, but they will likely never find it, because time travel doesn’t not exist and u can never undo the fact that you weren’t cool from 18-20s
