Almost exactly 6 years ago I started the process to raise for what eventually became @solana. I talked to every connection I had, went to every startup and crypto meetup and tried to get in front of everyone that I possibly could.
Even if they didn’t want to lead I would ask for a conditional angel check in case we got a lead. It took me over two months and hundreds of pitches to get to $500k worth of handshake angel checks. Most VCs thought that the alt L1 thesis was already played out.
I want @solana to be so cheap that it saves @visa money to use it over its own in-house infra, and I want @solana to be so fast that it improves the user experience as well.
